Avoid the Grindelwald Booking Mistake

One of the most common and disruptive travel mistakes in the Jungfrau region is confusing Gimmelwald with Grindelwald. While Grindelwald is a bustling, commercial mountain resort packed with hotels, sports shops, and rail connections, Gimmelwald is a tiny, peaceful, car-free farming hamlet of roughly 130 residents perched high above the Lauterbrunnen Valley.

Double-check your accommodation bookings, train routes, and GPS pins before finalizing your trip. To reach Gimmelwald, your transit route always goes through Lauterbrunnen, continuing by postbus to Stechelberg, and finally taking the Schilthorn cable car up to the village.
