Bypass the Funicular Queue via Pohořelec

Categories: Transportation | Traveling
The Petřín Funicular is covered by standard Prague integrated transport tickets, making it exceptionally popular and prone to long queues at the lower Újezd station, especially on sunny weekends. To avoid standing in line for up to 45 minutes, board tram 22 or 23 up to the Pohořelec stop near Strahov Monastery. From there, it is an easy, almost flat 10-minute stroll along the ridge straight to the summit attractions.
If you prefer an uphill walk for the exercise, skip the funicular entirely and ascend through the paths of the Seminary Garden. You will pass hundreds of blooming fruit trees in spring and enjoy panoramic views over the terracotta rooftops of Malá Strana.
