Hike Section 1 of the Swiss Path

A scenic hiking path along a mountain ridge overlooking Lake Lucerne in Switzerland
Categories: Preparation | Traveling

Morschach sits directly along the historic Weg der Schweiz (Swiss Path), a scenic trail created to celebrate Switzerland's 700th anniversary. Section 1 leads from the plateau of Morschach down to the lakeside town of Brunnen or towards Sisikon along cliffside forest trails.

The hike down to Brunnen offers elevated vistas across the Uri fjord (Urnersee) and takes roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. Wear sturdy hiking shoes with good traction, as the descent includes shaded forest paths with steps that can be slippery after rain. Once in Brunnen, you can catch a scenic boat back across Lake Lucerne or take a quick bus return up to Morschach.
