Park Outside the Medieval Walls

A close-up of uneven historic cobblestones leading towards an ancient stone archway in a French village.
Categories: Traveling | Transportation

Gerberoy is a protected, pedestrian-only historic sanctuary. Motor vehicles are strictly prohibited inside the village core, meaning you must leave your car at the designated visitor parking lot located just outside the village entrance on the D930 road.

Because the village is built on a hill and paved entirely with ancient, highly uneven cobblestones, sturdy, flat walking shoes are absolutely essential. Avoid high heels or thin-soled shoes, as they can easily get caught between the stones. If you have mobility issues, note that the climb from the parking lot into the heart of the village is quite steep.
