If your itinerary includes more than two federal parks or recreation areas, skip individual vehicle entry tickets and purchase the America the Beautiful Pass. For a flat fee of $80, this physical pass covers standard amenity fees and day-use entrance fees for up to four adults in a personal vehicle across more than 2,000 federal recreation sites, including all National Parks, National Monuments, and Wildlife Refuges.

You can buy the pass in person at the entrance station of almost any major park. Because individual entrance fees typically hover between $30 and $35 per vehicle at flagship parks like Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, or Zion, the pass pays for itself on your third visit. Remember that it covers entrance fees only; specialized camping permits, timed-entry reservation slots, and concessions like ferry rides or cave tours still require separate bookings.
