Split Your Stay Between North and South

Puglia is deceptively long, stretching over 400 kilometers from the Gargano Peninsula in the north down to Santa Maria di Leuca at the southern tip of Salento. Attempting to explore the entire region from a single base will result in hours spent on the highway rather than relaxing.

To experience the best of the region without driving fatigue, divide your trip into at least two distinct hubs. Consider spending the first half of your stay in the central Valle d'Itria or near Monopoli to explore trulli houses, Polignano a Mare, and Matera. Then, move south to Lecce or near Otranto to immerse yourself in Baroque architecture and the turquoise waters of the Salento coast.

For a truly authentic stay, book a restored masseria (fortified farm estate) in the countryside for one portion of your journey and a coastal boutique property for the other.
