Trek the Tanzbödeli Trail for 360-Degree Views

Categories: Traveling | Health & Safety
For an unforgettable day hike directly from Gimmelwald, ascend the trail toward Tanzbödeli (the 'Dance Floor'). This flat, grassy plateau sits high on a rocky ridge between the Lauterbrunnen and Sefinen valleys, delivering breathtaking 360-degree panoramas of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks.
This is a strenuous alpine trek involving roughly 900 meters of elevation gain and several steep switchbacks. Equip yourself with high-traction hiking boots, trekking poles, and at least 1.5 liters of water. Check trail conditions with your lodge host before departure, as upper sections can retain snow patches well into early summer.
