Cross the Glass Corridor to Stathatos Mansion

Glass walkway connecting modern museum wing to a neoclassical mansion interior.
Categories: Traveling | General

The Museum of Cycladic Art is split across two architecturally distinct buildings: the contemporary main wing on Neofytou Douka Street and the 19th-century neoclassical Stathatos Mansion on the corner of Vasilissis Sofias Avenue. Many visitors unknowingly miss the mansion entirely because its entrance looks like a private residence from the exterior street.

Make sure to locate the enclosed glass walkway on the first floor that connects the modern galleries to the mansion. Inside, you will find temporary exhibitions, ornate ceiling frescoes, period furnishings, and the rare Tsiklostefanos collection within one of Athens' finest surviving examples of neoclassical architecture.
