Discover the Free Outdoor Sculpture Fairytale

Whimsical bronze fairy tale sculptures overlooking the sea on the Scheveningen promenade.
Categories: General | Preparation

Before buying a ticket to enter the main indoor galleries of Museum Beelden aan Zee, spend time strolling along the outdoor seaside promenade of Scheveningen. Here lies Sprookjesbeelden aan Zee, a whimsical collection of bronze sculptures created by American sculptor Tom Otterness depicting popular fairy tales with a humorous twist.

These sculptures—ranging from a massive 12-meter-tall Gulliver to tiny whimsical sea creatures—are completely free to view 24 hours a day. It is an ideal spot for photography and a delightful precursor to the modern sculpture exhibits hidden inside the dune structure behind them.
