Walk the Causeway Coastline for Free

Categories: Traveling | Transportation
A common misconception when visiting the famous Giant's Causeway is that you must purchase an admission ticket to access the geological site. The fee charged on arrival is exclusively for the National Trust Visitor Centre, parking lot, audio guides, and exhibition space, not for the iconic basalt columns themselves.
Under public right-of-way legislation, pedestrian access to the dramatic coastline and columns is completely free. You can bypass the ticket fee entirely by parking off-site or arriving via public transport (such as the Translink bus network from Coleraine or Bushmills) and walking down the scenic public paths directly to the stones.
