Intro

Also known as "Dutch Venice", Giethoorn is a beautiful village in The Netherlands. Traveling in the village will make you feel like you're in a movie scene. Cars are not allowed in the village, and visitors and the inhabitants can only sail around, walk or cycle to get around. Most tourists visit the part containing endless canals and many small islands interconnected by 176 bridges to the mainland. You can either walk around a path called 'Binnenpad' or travel in the canals.

When you arrive, you will park your car outside the village (in one of the free parking lots) and start your trip. You can visit the museum or one of the many restaurants and cafes in the village. Then, choose either you prefer to rent a small boat and ride alone, or get a private boat with local guide. You can also walk\cycle the 'Binnenpad' route. If you choose to cruise the canals, you have over 15 companies that offer different boat rentals. If you decide to walk/bike, please note that there are no separate bike and walk paths in the village.
