• This is a physically demanding activity in a remote, wild environment.
• Gorilla trekking involves long, strenuous hikes on extremely steep, muddy, and difficult terrain with no paths.
• For visitors with severe mobility issues, a special "sedan chair" carried by porters can sometimes be arranged at great expense, but this must be organized far in advance.
• The lodges and facilities in the area are remote and generally not equipped for accessibility.
