A short walk from the old harbor, you'll find the Maritime Museum Rotterdam. The museum was established in 1874 and is dedicated to naval history. Next to the Maritime Museum lies the open-air Maritime Museum Harbour, which merged with the Maritime Museum in 2014. The museum provides a fascinating look into the city's connection to the sea and its many waterways. Its extensive collections cover the history of shipping and seafaring. It also includes a reconstruction of a 2,000 years old ship model and numerous seafaring paintings.
